Used Car Search

Used car search: How to go about it?

If you are planning to buy a car but don’t have the dough to invest in a new one, a good idea is to do a used car search. Contrary to popular opinion, used cars are not really bad deals and if you are careful, you can get a good, functionally supreme used car. The best thing is you could be saving a ton of cash. Following are the things to look for while doing a used car search:

•    Are you looking for a used car which is almost new or something which is moderately old? Unless you decide this beforehand, you will not be able to make the correct decision.
•    What is the number of miles the used car you are eyeing been driven? A good rule of the thumb is to avoid cars which has been driven less than 12000 miles. This way you will not be burdened with a car which is too old. Also make sure you study whether the model you want has good reliability ratings.
•    Don’t buy a used car which has not been maintained properly or taken for servicing regularly as that could be detrimental. Instead look for a car which has all the maintenance documents up to date.
•    Look for all the cosmetic damages the used car you want to buy has. You don’t want a car which has too many nicks and scratches as that would just make it look too used.
